Book Description

Ricardo Ross is The Marketmaker, the king of the Latin American bond markets. How far would you go to please the king?

Disenchanted academic Nick Elliot knows that he may be selling his soul when he joins Ricardo Ross at City brokers Dekker Ward, but he needs the money. As Nick soon discovers you are either with The Marketmaker, or you have made an enemy for life.

While Nick is learning the ropes, strange things start to happen to Dekker Ward employees. One top trader is fired without warning. Another dies in a bungled robbery.

Nick can’t hide his feelings for his attractive Brazilian colleague Isabel. Then she is kidnapped in Rio.

Nick decides go to Brazil to look for her, a country he doesn’t know at all. But the Marketmaker knows it, knows it very well …

The Marketmaker is one of Michael Ridpath’s eight bestselling financial thrillers, which were published in over 30 languages.

Quite a story and a page turner although I am not sure that the money market works that way. It was a good story well told but was it credible, of course not!!!

True Ridpath, this story is full of intrigue and suspense. The banking system is at the heart of the story-line; how money is made, lost and the tragedies which result from these decisions.
