This is a good reference book covering many topics that are useful to a naval architect. However, at a price of nearly £130 I do not expect the book's binding to fall apart so easily, and the pages to start to drop out. The book is about 5.5cm thick, and pages are not stitched and glued to the spine, but merely glued. This is the second book that Amazon has sent me, after I sent the first one back for the same reason. This time I'll be asking for a refund instead of a replacement! A very cheaply made book at a very expensive price.

It should be better 5 Sep 2009
By Luiz Victor Seize - Published on Amazon.com

It is an encyclopedic book that talks about everything and says very little about each topic.
There are typos too.
You will not learn much, unless you consult the references.
It is not as useful as PNA, but they cover primarely the same subjects.
The price is high, so think twice before buying it.

This book is a gift! 23 Jun 2009
By Mauro D. Marques - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
I think this book is very interesting. A perfect reference book for naval architects and marine engineers. Therefore, I have bought this book in order to give it to my teacher from University of Sao Paulo in Brazil - Dept of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. I hope he will enjoy this gift very much!
