Wow... it's about time!!! The After Midnight album, (in my opinion) is by far the Manhattans greatest set of work. From the opening song, Shining star (mega hit) to the very end,I'll never run away from love again, this album is the best EVER!!! 99% of this album is ballads,with "The closer you are" being the best, and if you love the slow jams like I do... GET IT! After Midnight houses one of their biggest hits ever (Shinig star) and was released once before in the 90's in Japan and FINALLY again in 2010, And of course not in their own country! Why the U.S. never really releases great soul records from their own people will ALWAYS puzzle me, but whatever it is finally out again and I'm very excited about this release!!! Of course I didn't forget about the self titled album that is a part of this set,it's a good one too, but it is much easier to find having been released a few years back in the states and is still selling. So get it while it is here, because if it goes out of print, it will be very tough to find!

THIS HAS GOT TO BE.........GET IT ? NOT THE SADDEST DAY OF MY LIFE WHEN I RECEIVED THIS. REALLY GOOD CD AND SUCH A GOOD PRICE THAT YOU CAN'T GO WRONG.

This special 2-CD set features The Manhattans' self-titled debut album from 1976 and 1980's immortal "After Midnight". These two albums are the ones most people associate with The Manhattans the most because of their world-famous hit singles "Hurt", "Kiss And Say Goodbye" and "Shining Star". Both albums feature production from Philadelphia stalwarts Jack Faith, Bobby Martin and Bert DeCoteaux as well as Chicago-based Leo Graham. What is perhaps most amazing about these albums is that they were both originally released at a time when Disco was at its apex yet both went platinum. Smooth soul balladry at its best.
