I have recently bought a number of mandala-colouring items, and am very impressed with the quality of this kit, it exceeded my (generally rather high) expectations.

The white cards are of a good size and made of a pleasing, fairly sturdy, matt white type of cardboard. The lines of the designs are ultrafine - the only problem that could arise with this product is that many people might find the designs too fine and detailed to colour in - the thin lines are very unforgiving of slips of the pencil.

The mandalas are absolutely stunning though, and cover a wide variety of styles from different spiritual and design traditions.

An additional 'nice touch' is a 'title' for the mandala, with a brief explanation of the symbolism and significance of the image, on the back of each card. The inside is blank of course, and there is no branding of any kind.

The 10 colour pencils are of good quality, though not on a par in colour vibrancy with Derwent Studio artsits pencils, and seem to be not suited to blending. Anyone serious about colouring in mandalas will want more than 10 colours anyway, but the pencils provided are a useful starting point.

The book is an attractive little hardback, and contains brilliantly coloured, slightly smaller versions of the 12 designs, as well as step-by-step meditation instructions and a quotation from spiritual or literary texts, e.g. Tao Te King, for each mandala. The book is fully coloured and very nicely produced, I expected a fairly throwaway item, but it is a really worthwhile little book in its own right.

Even the box the kit comes in is sturdy and well-made. Basically, if you like mandalas and colouring, this kit is a delight, with amazing attention to detail.
