Product Description

'I'm over forty. I don't have a blankie. I have vodka.'

Note: this is not a book of advice, how-to, or self-help. The author deconstructs stereotypes with satire. Totally different concept.

'I write about men, women, sex, & chocolate. My experiences, my truth, my martinis.'

*Note: Thompson employs hashtags (i.e., the # sign) in her collection. Google it. These are not typos, people #deargod.

Looking for a humorous take on family relationships or love and romance? Look no further.

Praise for The Mancode: Exposed -- already a #1 bestseller in Marriage, Parenting & Families AND Parenting & Relationships!

5/5 Star Reviews:

--As a long time warrior in the Battle of the Sexes, I would've won a lot more skirmishes had I had a copy of Mancode in my saddle. Reaching back toward my shotgun, I would've found this collection. Instead of shooting the man, I could've said, "Stop acting like a man!" Buy Mancode and stop wasting bullets.

~ Beth Wareham, author Power of No

--Finally! A woman who gets what I'm going through every day, from that whole spitting thing to my deep abiding love for chocolate. Well done!

~ Amber Scott, author of #1 Kindle bestsellers IRISH MOON, FIERCE DAWN, WANTED

--Mancode: Exposed is a scathingly funny, rapid fire and heartfelt look at men. Author Rachel Thompson delivers a satirical piece that invokes strong shades of Penny Marshall and Seth McFarlane.

~ Casey Ryan, Host & Creator, Cutting Room Floor radio program

If you're looking for satire, love and romance, and sex depicted with humor, buy this book!

Can't get enough of Thompson's snarky humor? Purchase her first release, A Walk In The Snark, her #1 bestselling collection of essays released January 2011, hitting #1 on the Motherhood list September, 2011 and has become a chart mainstay. Find out why!

4.0 out of 5 stars Who's doing the dishes, hon? 2 Oct 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Every few days or so after dinner, as I'm getting the baby and second one ready for bed, my hubs will holler from the kitchen, "Who's doing the dishes, hon?". There are two adults in the house, I'm busy so who else is doing the dishes?

Rachel's book brought out these hilarious sentiments and other more serious ones as well. We lost one twin a few months ago. Six months into my pregnancy, I learned that one twin had died. We were devastated. As irritating and annoying as the #Mancode can be, they do pull together in the end. Even if it's in a way you don't understand.

It took me awhile to get used to the hashtag 'slang' and the huge chunks of underlined text made it a bit hard to read. But that's just me being pedantic. Other than that I loved this absolutely hilarious take on the opposite sex.

Would I recommend this read? Oh yes definitely. Any male or female with a sense of humour will be able to appreciate this book.

Overall assessment:
Content: 4/5
Editing: 4/5
Formatting: 4/5
Pacing: 4/5
Offensive content?: PG-15, adult themes are present.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth it 16 Dec 2012

Book is awful, she isn't as funny as she thinks she is, the language used is the equivalent of teenagers' text speak. Poorly written

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing 7 April 2012
By vanilla

I am usually a fan of this kind of book, but I am sorry to say this was written in such an irritating, cliche and repetitive style that I found myself skim reading large chunks to move through faster - only to find more of the same and me wishing I hadn't wasted my time.

Normally, when a chick says “I’m fine,” we usually aren’t. But when we’re PMS’ing and we tell you “I’m fine,” here’s the deal: go buy us coffee, chocolate, and then CLEAR THE AREA. "e;

Women want to have sex. We just don’t want to be asked if we want to have sex in an indifferent manner. We want to feel desired, adored, loved. "e;

Sorry, Barbra darling, but that You Don’t Bring Me Flowers Anymore song is just stupid. Here’s a tip: I much prefer shoes. Shoes. Don’t. Die. "e;
