Disappointing and poorly written book. Reads like it was written in a too much of a hurry (to get it on sale before Christmas?)and wasn't properly edited or proofread. Repetitive in places

Informative, hopefully factual, but having no humour. Glad Thad that I read it, for the bare bones, but really looking forward to Brendan' s own books.

I love Mrs Brown and Brendan O'Carrols work, so was deeply disappointed that this book does not do him justice. Clearly based on press and TV reports, the text is repetitive and jumps around covering and recovering the same events. Clearly an inexperienced writer who has badly stitched the source material together. Such a pity because Brendan is such an interesting man who has experienced highs and lows, is famous for his PMA, and faith in his friends and family.

This is obviously not an official biography - it is based on numerous interviews and press reports - but it does give a good insight into Brendan O'Carroll's background and explains why he has been so successful. The author does go a bit over the top with a fair bit of repetition, but I would rather read this than the endless criticism peddled by the so-called experts who write reviews in the newspapers. The Daily Telegraph's critics (and others) should get their heads out of their backsides and realise that Brendan O'Carroll is clever, astute and very, very, funny. As Mrs Brown would say - get over yourselves!

Disappointing. Very repetitive. All in all not a very good biography. I look forward to reading Brendan's autobiography to make up for this poor effort.

To be honest anything to do with delightful Mrs Brown would entertain me and my husband. This book was so interesting I could not put it down until I had finished it. To learn a little of what has possibly let Brendan to where he is now was, indeed, a eye opener and we could all take on board the thought that it does not matter who you are or what hardships you may have encountered, you can come out at the very top of it all. Mrs Brown, you are brilliant.

It read very well and lets you into the life of Mrs Brown and Brendan O'Carroll. The text is taken from radio, magazines and television interviews. All put together well, and runs in order finnishing at the present time. You learn how so many of the people close to him are in the Mrs Brown shows. Little snippets like the Cartoon at front of TV series is from his cartoon that is shown over the world. Is there Irish "Mammys" all over the world????

I really enjoyed reading all about Brendan's life with all the ups and downs. I loved the facts that he proved all the so called critics and social climbers wrong, a great achievement. You really must read this book, I am sure you will not be disappointed. I started watching the BBC one series and never stopped laughing.
