GREAT GOOD TIME BLUES 18 May 2004
By HANS D HARMS - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
Great guitarist, good singer and some choice tunes. Whats not to like?? SMOKEY plays with gay abandon and a whole lot of spirit.
He sounds a bit like a cross between B.B. KING and HENDRIX, and that can't be all bad. The songs, while infectious, don't reinvent the wheel and are often just excellent vehicles for SMOKEY's exuberant playing. If you like the BLUES and the guitar, this will put a smile on your face.

A Joy 26 Feb 2001
By Bob Davis - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Smokey Wilson shows on this album how much he enjoys his work. His guitar shines as does his own enjoyment of what he does. Great stuff from a blues artist who has not got the recognition he deserves. No morbid blues here, just great fun.

great bar blues 20 Nov 2003
By brohammer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
When I first heard this cd I thought to myself, where was this guy when I was hitting the bars every night, drinking up a storm, looking for a great blues band. Smokey wilson wasn't in my neiborhood, but fortunatly his cd is. It's got all the cool bar band stuff like stinging quitar licks, rollicking rhythm, and great songs. From 44.Blues to the goofy Man From Mars. Smokey's voice is like a minor leagur Howlin' wolf, but that aint bad. Fun stuff.
