Be encouraged and inspired by the designs in this book.
Clearly defined and well thought-out sections include techniques (for different beads), simple instructions to stitch the designs and also sewing instructions at the back of the book to actually put the bags together. Beautiful variations in beading designs - not too 'samey' - some needing more time and patience than others.Colour photographs of the designs come in groups of two.

The paper patterns are either actual size or need to be enlarged (percentages given) so a photocopier, or access to one, is an essential piece of kit for some designs.

The only problem I can forsee (but one that most crafty people find when making anything) is that some bags require a handbag clasp and/or handle to complete the design. No stockists suggested by author so may be wise to track items down first before embarking on a design.

A brilliantly simple book that a beginner (with some sewing experience) could pick up and use confidently.

A must-have for beaded bag fans 27 Sep 2003
By Margaret Jackson - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This is a really great book for anyone interested in learning how to make beaded bags, without knitting. The designs are incredible. There are projects for all levels, ie. the Sequin covered bag is perfect for the beginner while the Stained Glass or Japanese Bags are ideal for those wanting more challenge. Her technique explanations are so clearly written, you'll be able to pick up your needle and start right away. I liked most of the colours used for the bags, but you can use what you like. There's a lot of work involved to complete a project, but the results are stunning. In my opinion, the only thing lacking was a Supplier List at the back of the book, specifically for purse frames which can be tricky to find.

Dull and Uninspiring Product with limited information 24 Sep 2003
By "empressmiko" - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I totally disliked this book...if you want to make craft show type stuff then perhaps this is a good choice but I came looking for info on how to make high fashion high quality beaded handbags likened to some of todays top designers and thisbag did not even stracth the surface of what I needed. Not to mention the pages are all plain black and white copy paper which is uninspiring to say the least. I would only suggest this book for those looking to make little trinkets in thier spare time certainly not for resale.
