First Favourite Tales - Fab series for 2 year olds
I bought this entire series to give as birthday and christmas presents, to my 2 year old daughter and to other children. They have been a massive hit. The illustrations are lovely and, like the Snuggle Up series, the way they are written with rhyme and repetition as a central theme make them irresistible to toddlers. My daughter loves these books and wants to read them again and again, and they encourage her to join in too. I really wanted to introduce her to some of the classic fairy stories and this is a great, updated, way of doing so. Highly recommended.

was expecting similar/same pictures as the original book but it is modernised without the good bits I remember. I used to love looking for the mice when the porridge was spilling into the town - no mice in this book except for one boring one in a boot. In the original the mice were all under the table waiting with a bowl ready to catch some dripping porridge, then they were using their bowls as boats to ride through the town on the porridge - none of this is in the new book - very dissappointing for me - part of the best bits that encourage childrens imagination has been lost in this new version.

This book is a winner with my 2 1/2 year old grandson. I tired of reading it to him way before he tired of hearing it! It has great pictures and he enjoyed hunting for the cat on each page, plus a variety of other critters.

poor
The book I purchased was blatently NOT NEW condition as stated, or if it was it was in very poor condition. It was scruffy, bent, torn at the edges.
