This guide takes a look at many of the worst Euro-absurdities to have been inflicted on Britain over the last few years. Although Brussels has been blamed for many of the miseries of over-regulation, the real culprits are just as likely to be home-grown bureaucracy, often more zealous in applying EC directives than other member states. Regulations have been introduced, particularly in the hygiene field, lacking any sound scientific basis and leading in some cases to an increase rather than an elimination of risk.
