The main story is quite simple. Ren is in the position of stealing lunchboxes from the staff fridge while working at a company named Consolidated. She goes through the background related to being in this position of stealing lunches and what happens after this.
I found the idea funny and kept it as one of the ones I wanted to read first out of my newer downloads. I will say, I was somewhat disappointed. There are parts in this book that are quite creative and unique and made me laugh. But I really don't identify with the main character much. I kind of what to tell her to grow up a bit. She's completely unmotivated, goes out of her way to try to be ridiculous, but somehow it falls flat. I got really bored at parts but kept reading to see if she gets caught or not. There seemed to be way too much back story and not enough focus on the concept that got me to get the book. Besides the main character, there are a few gems in the books that the author depicted fairly well, where we all know people just like that, finding myself rolling my eyes at their antics. I also like the end (not the last chapter or so which was a letdown), since I felt that it showed character development.
As is, I found it left me a bit bored and just wanting to know what happened. If the author were to trim this down and really focus on the lunchbox issue, this book really could have been something fantastic with some of the ways things were all tied together. Therefore, I'd give it a 2.5 stars, rounding up to be a bit generous.
