Product Description

Product Description

Lunch, whether it is to be eaten at home, in school, in the office or while out and about, constitutes a significant part of our diet. Yet many people, and parents in particular, have difficulty creating interesting and delicious alternatives to the boring sandwiches or unhealthy snacks that form many packed lunches. This book offers interesting and imaginative ideas to act as an inspiration, both for parents making their children's packed lunches and indeed for their own lunches. Advice on nutritional balance and the different food groups is offered, as is information for those with various allergies and intolerances. There are suggestions for general lunchbox menus and specific vegetarian lunchboxes - as well as ideas for those participating in a lot of sport. Recipes are also offered for many of the suggestions, all of which are suitable for those with minimal cooking skills. This book is an inspiration for anyone who wants to make sure that lunches will never be boring again!

No recipes! 2 Mar 2009
By a in nebraska - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
This book was a total waste of money. The sub-title is "nutritional and creative ideas", and that's exactly what it is-- ideas. There are barely any recipes. The author should be ashamed of herself for publishing this.

A delightful book 28 Jan 2010
By Marion - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This is a book for cooks who are not attached to the absolutes of the traditional cookbook. The author gives you a general idea of what you need to create the suggested lunch and a general outline for doing so. You get to take it from there (something I appreciate). If you need traditionally set-up recipes this isn't a cookbook for you. If you appreciate gentle guidance, give this book a try. Oh yes, there is a lot of good nutritional information too.
