5.0 out of 5 stars Well worth getting! 19 Jan 2009
Format:Paperback
As someone who is proactively interested in not just diet and exercise but also nutrition and wellbeing it is nice to encounter a well presented book that encapsulates everything so nicely. The diet is great and will help you shed the excess pounds, but when people say `diet' they think of restricting themselves of certain food stuffs, this is not the case. In this book the author breaks down various food groups and goes over key nutrients, not just giving you a day by day diet plan, so it is not just concentrating on the diet but also about healthy living.
This book is well presented and nicely set out, it is colourful and includes beautiful recipes using well known foods and does not require you to go on a hunt for things like aduki beans.
I also like the way the mind body connection is also addressed in this book, defiantly worth getting if you are seeking to create a healthier you for the New Year.

5.0 out of 5 stars Totally Life Changing! 5 Jan 2009
Format:Paperback
I initially used the lunch box diet for weight loss, but it soon provided a lot more than that, my energy levels have been through the roof ever since. Finally a diet where I can eat all the time and I've found my snacking has dropped, because when I used to go for crisps and chocolate, I now reach for my box, it's just so handy and probably the easiest diet I've tried.

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent!!! 6 Jan 2009
Format:Paperback
I love this diet because I'm an active gym goer and it works brilliant for me, the `Active Carbs' section brings me the carbs I need when I'm working out and it fills me up all day. I'm not really much of a diet person, but this is more of a healthy way to eat and the whole lunch box thing makes it so handy to take around, I use a cooling bag in my car when I travel. It's also fantastic for balancing my blood sugar which needs to be watched carefully. It's a friendly book and the supporting diet community really makes a difference as I've made quite a few pals in there.

I have a bachelor's degree in dietetics (clinical nutrition), and I can't tell you how many diets I've researched only to find once again that they were full of bogus advice that fell into two categories: a temporary quick fix or unattainable goals.

Simon Lovell's diet, The Lunch Box Diet is literally the most innovative diet in years. Its remarkable simplicity does something that people have been trying to figure out for years... how to lose weight while still nourishing the body in a realistic manner.

The great thing is that this diet will help people of all backgrounds become healthier then they've ever been. Not only will they lose weight and look great, but they'll experience something that you simply can't put a price tag on: FANTASTIC health. There are soooo many health problems that can be directly attributed to poor nutrition. The Lunch Box diet is capable of reducing many health risks including number one killers such as cardiovascular disease.

It's a must read and I recommend it to all folks trying to lose weight or struggling with health issues. Moreover, people who simply want to feel great, prevent disease or perfect their performance will find The Lunch Box Diet extremely useful.

And don't forget about the professionals in this field like myself... doctors, nurses, personal trainers and nutritionists alike will find this a great way to help their clients achieve optimum health!

5.0 out of 5 stars AMAZING!!!! 26 Sep 2011
Format:Paperback
i don't normally bother writing reviews but i felt i had to for this book. i've been trying to lose weight since i had my son 8 months ago but i just don't have the will power to stick with any diet or exercise routine, until now. i bought this book with the same attitude i have towards all the rest; that it probably won't work. however, i have only been on this diet for three days up to now and i feel great :) i have so much more energy, i actually want to exercise now! i obviously wont know how much weight i've lost until the end of four weeks when i weigh myself but i'm not as bothered now anyway. my attitude to life has changed already (as cheesy as that sounds) i would definately recommend this book to anyone :) big thumbs up from me.xxxxx

4.0 out of 5 stars Gain Energy, Lose Weight 13 Mar 2009
Format:Paperback
A great motivator to weight loss - 10lbs and counting. Been trying for some years to lose weight - first one that has worked this century! The fantastic bonus is the energy which I have gained from the types of food I now eat. The author's continual email encouragement helps whenever I slip, and I am not a person who goes to the gym.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Only Diet that has worked for me! 20 Feb 2012
By Emma
Format:Paperback
I have been on this diet for 4 weeks now. I decided that I wanted to lose a dress size. At a size 12, I wanted to be a size 10. At the moment, my job takes up a lot of my time and so I don't have the spare time to go to the gym and work out (nor do I fancy working up a sweat in the gym!). I also decided that I didnt want to dramatically change my lifestyle. I love food. I love cooking and so I didnt want to lose these passions through a diet. Now, after I trawled the internet, I found that the Lunch Box Diet was something that met my requirements. It appeared to be a tweak to my current diet. Basically, you eat a healthy breakfast and a healthy tea/dinner. During the day you graze on your lunch box. The first few days, when your body is adjusting, are the hardest. The book contains all the science about why this diet works, as well as some great receipes and ideas for the lunch boxes. I really enjoyed preparing my lunch boxes and I enjoy grazing on them even more! For me, this book has helped educate me and make me aware of what I am putting in my body. I have so much more energy on the diet. You do have to be very organised with your food shopping, meal plans and lunch boxes. I have so far (and 4 weeks on) managed to lose 6 lbs without exercise. I am really really happy with this as I am now the size 10 that I desired to be! I think that if I had exercised during this time then I may have lost 1 stone like the book suggests. I am now going to build in some zumba and pilates into my week so that I can tone my body. One of the drawbacks to this book is that once you have tried all of the lunchbox receipes, it can get a little tiresome. I haven't got a great imagination when it comes to salads so need somebody to supply me with more receipes - so far, I cannot see a lunch box diet receipe book that doesnt require a Kindle :(
