Biography

Terror have cemented their status in great stone letters as guardians of old school hardcore ethics while winning the pit fervor of the new generation of metal and hardcore fans. Ignoring current musical trends the L.A. based band have stuck to their guns or guitars playing aggro, no frills, breakneck hardcore like “The Cro-Mags” and “Agnostic Front” before them. Ragged ... This is straightforward hardore with a metal edge. It's fast, fast, fast, slow, faster faster formulaic stuff that I'm afraid you'll love even if you don't want to. The beatdowns rock and the album races by before you've had time to catch breath. At average 2 minutes each, 9 tracks are gone by in a blur and the CD will be spinning for a second time before you've a chance to get up.
Quite frankly this is hatebreed played at double speed or compressed into half the time, whichever you prefer. But who cares if the sound is so similar when the end result is so irresistable. It's pure emotion, it's rage, it's everything HC should be. Man.

Fantastic album, great production and sound. Brilliant groves and really aggressive. Listening to the "Lowest of the Low" made me think of the first time I listened to Stife's Album - "One Truth" for the first time - it made the hairs on my neck stand up! Buy the album, you won't be disappointed.

17 pummeling minutes of bliss 3 Aug. 2003
By JoeColeIsGod - Published on Amazon.com

Alright, for those of you out there not familiar with Scott Vogel, you probably wont be as giddy as I was to get my mitts on this. Scott is without a doubt one of the few vocalists in the hardcore scene that I think truly back everything they say, and has been a big influence on me in terms of vocal and lyrical styles. Vogel also served as frontman for Slugfest, Despair and the godly Buried Alive, 3 of the best examples of pure ... off hardcore from the 90's. With such an amazing track record with 3 very good and influential bands, I was quite eager to hear how Terror would turn out.
Upon hearing this CD, I can honestly say I believe Terror is the perfect culmination of everything Vogel has done to date. The music is extremely heavy and moshy, perfect for the rough times in life where you just want to destroy everything in your path. They also dont pretend to be radio hits--the band just finds a nice riff and the occasional groove, and starts wailing and thrashing without mercy. What makes this album so golden is how the songs unleashed are similar in style, but dont sound like carbon clones of each other as times goes by. This keeps the album fresh every time you pop it in.
In usual Vogel style however, the lyrics are extremely uplifting, setting a mindset of perseverance and refusal to be beaten into submission. Nothing negative here (albeit profane, so if that isnt your ideal thing, you might not be as enthused), and it serves perfectly as words of wisdom in tough times.
My only gripe here would be how quick it all goes by--9 tracks in 17 minutes. It leaves you wanting more. However, I cant detract anything from my rating because the band works so well together, moving like a machine, and on top of that, you can tell they enjoy every minute of what theyre accomplishing.
All in all, this is going to be a worthy purchase for any fan of heavy as hell hardcore. I reccomend grabbing it ASAP, and if you get the chance to see them live, dont miss it--they put on an awesome show.

Hardcore masterpiece 4 Jan. 2005

This is the best hardcore album i've ever heard. If someone out there is just getting into hardcore than I suggest you listen to this album. Scott Vogel and company kick your ass with this short but uncompromising work of brutal hardcore art. This album is definately worth buying, go out and get it!

not quite as good as one with the underdogs but then not much is. having said that, it is still a great album and a sh*tload better than most of the crap out there so worth buying if you can handle paying for 23 min albums. i really can't understand why hardcore bands (or whatever you want to call this genre) can get away with releasing cds under 25 mins in length. you still usually get charged full price for them.

disc also has all the songs from this album except "can i say" and "out of my face" live in tokyo which packs it out to 45 mins so this at least in some way makes up for the short length. i didn't get 2 discs but i guess that's what the bonus disc thing is about

with all my bitching out of the way i would still definately recommend this cd but if you don't already have one with the underdogs get that first.

Wow...i feel truley honored that this Cd was able to grace my Cd player. Terror combines all the qualitys of the older hardcore sound, but still find a way to incorporate a few death metal riffs and chord progressions that give this Cd an extremly dark and almost insane feel. I have also heard that these guys put a first rate show, so check em' out when they get back from there European Tour with another outstanding band entitled Biohazard. Thats all I can really say about this album. Pick it up and blow your eardrums out. Support your local scene and see you at the next show.......
Solid hardcore 22 Aug. 2005

Like they said before, if you own the first release, you really dont need this one. You get like 2 extra tracks & a bunch of live tracks. But if, like me, you dont have the first release, pick this one up. If you like Underdogs, this one wont let you down. Its not even easy to pick a favorite track. The entire cd is good, fast, hardcore with awesome breakdowns. Like most hardcore albums, its short but if youre a hardcore fan, youre used to that. Terror has risen to one of my favorite hardcore bands & this cd is getting LOTS of play.
