The evil Scaramouch plans to rule the world with "a will of iron and a fist of.... iron" but standing ever in his way is Skulduggery Pleasant. Now Scaramouch has captured Skulduggery and has him chained in a dungeon. Can the ever resourceful Skeleton Detective talk his way out of certain death?

This is another great short story in the Skulduggery Pleasant series. It will only take about 15 minutes to read, but still manages to cram in a well written story and several very funny scenes. The Skulduggery series is genuinely original, very funny and always leave me smiling.

Overall: 5 stars - A perfect short read for advanced younger readers aged around 10 or adults alike.

This was worth a free download and read.

It is quite a witty children's/ young adult short story.

It did make me smile a few times and for quick short story it is well written.

Skulduggery Pleasant regains consciousness to find that he is chained up in a dungeon by Scaramouch Van Dreg. Scaramouch is hell bent on world domination, but somehow Skulduggery doesn't seem that impressed, and truth be told he thought that Scaramouch had passed away.

Will Skulduggery escape? Will Scaramouch rule the world? And where is Valkyrie Cain? Although only a short story this is full of the humour that we have come to expect from the Skulduggery Pleasant novels.
