Product Description

Review

A warm, funny read for kids, and an unexpectedly moving one for adults.

(Cambridge First ) --This text refers to the Paperback edition.

Product Description

The main humour and intrigue of this remarkable author/artists book lies in the contrast between the casual 'What I did on my holidays' narrative and the bizarre, surreal and funny scenes. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

The Lost Thing has many qualities that are rare in books written for children:
It is clever, it is funny, it makes smart observations, it doesn't patronise, it appeals to both children & adults, it captures that feeling of what it is like to be young.

To top off the illustrations are quirky, intricate, original & cool.

Basically it is a super book & I can't recommend it enough.

Having just purchased this book I have to say that it excels in so many different areas and i was delighted upon opening my amazon parcel.

This book is a wonderful synergy of excellent production, style, poetry and artistry:
The physical construction of the book, for a paperback, is solid and wonderful to touch and oozes quality.
Stylistically the books character is consistantly eclectic and inventively playful it is a delight just to page throught the book without reading it.
The story itself is full of curious little quirks and has lovely pace and rythm.

This is a wonderful book for both children and adults alike and I would recommend it to you.

I bought this book as a gift for special someone, and it was very well received. I could not help being intrigued, however ,and after spending 20 minutes just looking at the pictures on the inside of the cover, I was hooked.

The stories are enchanting, imaginative and I am sure equally enjoyable to adults and children alike. I will definitely buy more of Shaun Tan's books.
