The Lost Barkscrolls is the tenth novel of the Edge Chronicles.
And has four stories all concerned with the different ages of the discworld.
First though, there are the main characters of the Edge chronicles.
There are three trilogy's each with their own heroes.
Here they are:
In order of events;

The first trilogy's hero is: Quint
[The Curse Of The Gloamglozer,
The Winter Knights,
Clash Of The Sky Galleons]

The second trilogy's hero is: Twig
[Beyond The Deepwoods,
Stromchaser,
Midnight Over Sanctaphrax]

The third trilogy's hero is: Rook
[The Last Of The Sky Pirates,
Vox,
Freeglader]

Which then leads us to this book.
The first two stories, are two books oroginally released as world book day mini books (Cloud Wolf & The Stone Pilot).
The second book tells the story of Keris - Twigs daughter/Rooks mother - travelling with webfooted goblins, to their home and then to the Freeglades (The Slaughterers Quest).
In the last story, Rufus - the son of a character from the Rook trilogy - is a fellow member of the freeglade lancers, and him and his quad are attacked by a mysterious creature, and when they track down where it comes from they discover a secret camp making deadly weapons,
In the end Rufus discovers something that could spawn the begginings of the third age of flight (The Blooding Of Rufus Filatine).

This is a great book and is definitely worth buy.

This is an amalgamation of books, some published, some not. If you are familiar with the Edge Chronicles, the first two are quite standard, and were both released as 'World Book Day' titles. The second story especially is very like one of the books and I thought I recognised some of the pictures. The third - the Slaughterers Quest - raises the stakes a bit though, as it takes you to a new environment - some great lakes at the edge of the forest - and introduces a new and (thankfully) peaceful race. The fourth story is back to the blood and guts of battle, told from a rookie soldier's point of view, but again introduces some new creatures and new locations, and even opens the door for the future - powered flight! In the end, a great read.

Edge Chronicles. 25 April 2010
Format:Paperback
My son has been reading the whole Edge Chronicles saga of books and has been an avid reader with every book, enjoying them wholeheartedly. He reads them so quickly that he cannot wait for the next instalment. I am pleased that it captures his imagination.
