This volume follows,
The Losers: Book One which loosely ties in with the film that came out in 2010.
This series of comic strips was originally published by Vertigo in 32 issues from August 2003 to March 2006. With the film the decision was obviously taken to split the material into one book covering roughly what is in the film, with all the rest in this book.
There is an earlier imprint that spreads the material into a more manageable series of five trade paperbacks.
If you enjoyed the first book, then you should definitely get this one, there is an overarching plot, mysteries are resolved. Jock was responsible for most of the artwork in Book One, but there is a broader mix of different artists in this Book. None of them are bad, but Jock is incredibly difficult to follow.
The writing remains tight, with a punky attitude. Overall this is more violent than the first book, definitely for adults rather than for children. That said I did not feel that it was particularly gratuitous, more Sam Peckinpah than Texas Chain Saw Massacre.
