Originally intended by J.R.R. Tolkien for publication as a single volume, The Lord of the Rings grew in the telling such that its publishers had to split it into three volumes for the sake of both convenience and economy. But Tolkien wrote his epic fantasy as a work of six books, plus a series of appendices, and now the work is finally published as the author intended.
This is a slipcase set of small paperbacks, bound in black covers with the distinctive Eye of Sauron (from the original jacket design) embossed in red and gold on each copy. For the first time ever, each book bears Tolkien’s original title, and has been specially typeset for this edition.

It is impossible to summaries a 1000page novel in 1000word so I'm not going to try. Lets just say you will like it, that's a guarantee. It moves a lot faster than the length might suggest. This is the book of the millennium (in my opinion) so what could be more fitting than a new millennium edition. If you buy this your not just buying a story your buying your way into a different world.

This Millenium Edition Lord of the Rings 7 volume set is amazing. It has black binding with red and gold Eye of Sauron and has JRR Tolkien's signature on the inside front page. It is by far the best version to date and very hard to find. The UK version comes with a CD which has JRR Tolkien reading exerpts from the story. Each volume binding has a letter of Tolkien's name. A must have if you can find it.
