I can't explain enough how much of a wonderful book this is! I happened to pick the book up from the shelf at a book fair we had at the school I work at. I know you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover but the illustrations just jumped out at me. I bought the book to read to my class and haven't regretted it. The children thoroughly enjoyed the story with it's brilliant characters, imaginitive story line and fantastic language features which the children really could pick up on and use in their own writing. We have done a whole topic for the whole half term based on the story and the children never got fed up. There are so many writing links to the story, I was able to link maths to it and with the planets there is also Science. The opportunities are endless with this book and I urge all teachers out there to buy this book for their children, even if it's just for pleasure! I also read it to my nephews for pleasure and they have loved it too and off their own backs have gone away and created their own Loonzoomers. I am going to buy the hardback copy as a keepsake.

This is a delightful book and I was pleased to send it to a little girl. I think she will be as happy with it as I am. I can recommend this to any potential buyer.

Loontastic! 12 April 2012
Format:Paperback
As a teacher I purchased this book to use as part of a literacy unit exploring word play. The alliteration, rhyme and nonsense alien words made this book an instant hit with a class of 30 six and seven year olds. It is also a great bedtime story book for children of any age. The endearing story of how the Loon lights up the moon using the power of children's dreams as well as the humour and lovely illustrations make this an excellent picture book that you can return to again and again. Highly recommended!
