REVIEWS:

"A thriller in the style of The Silence of the Lambs, The Lonely Mile is a well written and gripping story of a battle between a serial killer and the father of his latest victim.

Leverone's style is not unlike that of Thomas Harris and the killer's point of view is given as much air time as that of the victim. The combination makes for a very unnerving read and the urge to keep going until the end - regardless of what horrors may lay in store." -Amazon Review

"The reading is easy which is nice for an intense thriller. It reminds me of a James Patterson suspense. There were a few editing items I would have corrected but they didn't detract from the all out action and suspense. If you like thrillers I highly recommend you try this story. I definitely want to read more from this author." -Amazon Review

“Written with edge-of-your-seat suspense and precise detail that can only come from a writer who did his research while on the job, Final Vector kept me, a white-knuckle flier, in awe from the very first sentence. The successor to Michael Crichton has landed. And his name is Allan Leverone.” – Vincent Zandri, bestselling author of THE INNOCENT and MURDER BY MOONLIGHT

“Allan Leverone raises the stakes with every turn of the page in this can’t-put-down tale of ruthless terrorists and cold-blooded betrayal.” – Sophie Littlefield, author of the Anthony Award-winning novel A BAD DAY FOR SORRY

“…Leverone kicks down the doors with a tense, tightly-plotted thriller that will keep you turning the pages deep into the night…Grab this book and get ready for a wild ride.” – Christopher Poe, author of THE PORTAL

“Suspenseful and well-written, The Lonely Mile shows how far a father will go to save his child.” – Debbi Mack, New York Times bestselling author of IDENTITY CRISIS and LEAST WANTED

This is the story of an ordinary man (Bill) foiling the latest kidnapping attempt by the 'I-90 Killer'. That simple heroic act set in motion a chain of events that no one could have foreseen. Now Bill is the victim - his daughter has been kidnapped by the I-90 Killer. He will stop at nothing to get her back, even going over the FBI Agent (Angie) assigned to the case.

This was utterly amazing! It grabbed me by the scruff of the neck from the beginning and would not let go until the very end. The action was unrelenting and took my breath away in places. I identified with Bill, being a parent myself, I would have done exactly the same in his position and not thought twice about it. The story rocketed along and at about the halfway point started to take a very sinister direction, which then set the reader up for the shocking and climactic ending. There were a few twists and turns on the way to that ending - one of which was totally unexpected. In short this is a clever and suspenseful thriller and I wholeheartedly recommend it.

Fast-paced thriller 15 Aug 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
This is a fast, easy read and - for once - a thriller which takes the reader inside the head of the villain without seeming gratuitous. In fact, it's obvious from early on that Martin Krall is seriously delusional, which makes it almost possible to feel sorry for him. In parallel, we also track Bill Ferguson, the hero of the piece, the dual perspective allowing the reader to follow all the action in what almost feels like real time. This is a gripping story with plenty of action, and bold characters determined not to be victims.

Spot on, just the right level of detail and pace to complement each other well. The author has also resisted the urge to pad the story which could so easily have been done to make a longer book.... this is a good thing, not that it was a short book (I can't judge on my Kindle!) more just the right length.

Great book, well written and a joy to read if such subject matter could ever be.

When she was a baby, he had always thought that most of the worrying would end as she got older. It turned out that the worrying never ended; you just focused on different concerns. He had discovered that was the dirty little secret about parentingthere was no finish line, you just kept going and going, hoping you were running the race properly, but most of the time not knowing whether you were even still on the course. "e;
