Product Description

Product Description

The headlines of Royal infidelity and divorce that are the bread and butter of today's tabloid press are nothing new. People have always been captivated by the sexual behaviour of Royalty, and as author Nigel Cawthorne reveals, there has been plenty of it. Historically this fascination has not been merely prurient - Royal marriages, adultery and splits have all had enormous political repercussions. In humorous style, Cawthorne chronicles the ongoing sexual farce across the centuries from Hal the Horny (Henry VIII) via Edward the Caresser (Edward VII) to the present day antics of Prince Charles who, unlike his predecessors, chose a mistress who was far less attractive than his official partner. --This text refers to the Paperback edition.

From the Author

The newest books in my Sex Lives series have a list of all the
personalities that appear the books, so you can play "International Daisy
Chain". This is a game invented, not by me, but by Truman Capote. Pick any
two people from the list and see how many lovers you need to daisy chain
between them. The player who joins them with the least lovers wins. Play it
at home or in bed - or why not try a game of "Strip Daisy Chain"?

HUGELY ENTERTAINING 8 Dec 2002
By A Customer
Format:Hardcover
This is a very entertaining book, with all sorts of information about the personal lives of the British monarchs that you don't usually find. It's especially good on Henry VIII and the Georgian kings, and homosexual monarchs, such as James I, Edward II, Mary II and Queen Anne. It's a must for anyone interested in the real story behind the historical figures

Easy read but far too many inaccuracies 30 July 2006
By L. Shane - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Nice easy read, quite entertaining but way too many inaccuracies. James, Duke of Monmouth was NOT James, Duke of York's son, for instance. I'm not a history professor by any means, but it seemed like nobody proofread this book. If you want something just as entertaining with no factual mistakes, buy Eleanor Herman's Sex With Kings.
