Fresh from Stuart Little, young Jonathan Lipnicki carries on his pint-sized shoulders his every scene in The Little Vampire as eight-year-old Tony, befriender of vampires. The Scottish setting lends itself nicely to spookiness, too. A continent away from his native California, Tony's having a tough time making new friends when a band of vagabond vampires enters his life through his bedroom window. The encounter seems pure coincidence at first, but then the scary truth surfaces: Tony, though he's not a vampire himself, has "sympathy for our kind", as the dad of the bat-linked brood puts it. Visions of vampire happenings from generations past invade the kid's consciousness, and they hold the key to the clan's current gypsy-like predicament. Through his clairvoyance and, by extension, the discovery of a long-lost amulet, the mostly benevolent bloodsuckers are able to reclaim their rightful status as proper cave-dwellers in their homeland. Clueless-parent predicaments abound--Tony's mum and dad smirk at their son's vampire-obsessed imagination until the cape-draped heads of the clan drop by for a visit--and viewers of around Tony's age will find the gang's adventures eluding a bumbling vampire hunter genuinely chuckle worthy. --Tammy La Gorce

Format:VHS Tape
a friend introduced this film to me and i must say i was a little dubious at first as i'm normally into Cannibal Holocaust and Exorcist horror type films, not childrens films. however i am addicted to it now, it has to be the best film i've seen in years. it has everything for all the family, even cynical teenagers like myself! the vampire costumes are fantastic, from the little girl's gothic medieval dress to the older brother's punky costume. the plot, although pretty predictabe, is nonetheless great. and the vampire cows simply rock.
this is one of those films that will never grow old and is suitable for everyone, it's great.

There are few films out these days that offer something for everyone in the family. With boys age 12 and 3, we usually find that they want different things, but Little Vampire pleased them both. Mum and dad laughed too. The vampires look good without being too scary for young children, and the humour keeps the whole thing light. If ever there was a horror film for kids, this is it.

Tony is 9 years old. He moved from America to live in Scotland and was very lonely as he had no friends. Just like me Tony loves vampires and one night a young vampire boy crashes in through Tony's bedroom window. He becomes Tony's best friend. There is an evil vampire slayer out to destroy all the vampires and Tony has to help his friend and his family before they are all destroyed forever. This is my favourite film ever. It is brilliant. Great family fun DVD
My 17 year daughter's fav child film but it was only video, as videos are a thing of the past when asked what would she like for XMAS 2011 she said The Little Vampire on DVD. Read more

The Little Vampire
My 5 year old daughter loves this film. Entertaining, not too scary - just scary enough to give her a thrill. Recommended for young children who like vampires.

This is my most favourite film ever!

Little nippers stick neck out.
This is in the same vein as after school specials. Once a gain the individual puny brat knows more than his parents and peers. However it was well done and not fly by night. Read more

Fantastic for the kids .... And adults too

Way better than the Books!
