Product Description

Review

Wonderful boxed set of six Little Tim stories with audiobook CD. Fry’s narration makes the six stories sing with adventure, and matches the quality of these swashbuckling tales.

(Bookseller Buyer's Guide)

Ardizzone's simple adventure stories are warmly coloured by the gentle humour of his classic pen and ink drawings.

(Saga)

An excellent present for anyone ages between 4 and 7.

Format: Hardcover
An excellent compilation of books from an iconic illustrator. The pictures hold such drama and are utterly absorbing. Both minimal and intricately detailed all at the same time, the illustrations are like snached moments of theatre accompanying the text with perfection telling truly charming stories. The soundtrack read by Stephen Fry is not just beautifully read but like a feature film in depth, detail and quality with beautifully subtle characterisation and explosive action[[ASIN:184780182X The Little Tim Collection: . It brings the book alive and is thoroughly enjoyable to listen to whatever your age.

I bought this one as a present and it was well received. The value of this is very good with 6 of the Little Tim books and with the bonus audiobook, even better. The books themselves are wonderful, with great storytelling and very good illustrations too. Even though they were written some time ago, they've not lost their quality to delight both children and adults. If you've not the time to read them to your child, then Stephen Fry's narration on CD will come to your rescue. It's also helpful for those "again, again" times.

The books - all the Little Tim books - are superb. Proper stories, with excitement and feeling - a far, far cry from today's insipid offerings. Children adore them, and the pictures are marvellous.

This is a beautiful collection. Ardizzone's drawings are wholesome and sustaining. They paint a picture of waves, the sea-shore and the exciting world of being a cabin boy on a steam-ship.
