Product Description

Book Description

The second edition of The Little Red Book of Acoustics, published by Blue Tree Acoustics, has been updated and expanded to explain current UK standards and regulations on environmental and building acoustics. It provides an accessible guide to acoustics for specialists and non-specialists, including EHOs and technicians.

The Little Red Book of Acoustics is an Institute of Acoustics Diploma course approved text and covers concepts such as basic acoustics, parameters, descriptors, propagation and transmission, with examples of calculations and tables. Each section is broken down into manageable chunks of information, well indexed for ease of use. The book includes an extremely helpful `standards and regulations' section, which encapsulates the current standards and regulations relating to acoustics and noise issues now in force in the UK. The final section of appendices gives the reader a helpful set of look-up tables as well as a range of examples of calculations on which to draw. This edition brings the book up to date with recent changes in legislation.

The second edition now comes as a spiral-bound pocketbook. Whether you are just starting out in acoustics or you are an experienced practitioner, it will quickly become an invaluable tool.

I have a lot of environmental and noise type books. This is the one I use all the time. It isn't high level, but it's the things you need to remember.

The Little Red Book was received promptly and in good condition.
It is Red
It was read
It contains lots of basic data for use in the Acoustics world.
It is small and compact which makes insertion into the briefcase easy and tidy.
Unless you are Acoutically minded most of the book is unintelligeable. But then you would not purchase a text book if you already knew and understood what was in it.
All in all I'm delighted with the purchase and will sing the praises of Amazon loudly - oops! not too loud though!!

Top marks in my book! 10 Sep 2008
Format:Paperback
This is the most complete and up-to-date volume I have come across lately on the subject of acoustics. It is compact, easy to follow, accessible (including to students such as myself), and contains key information about the field, all of which is clearly presented. It's inexpensive for what you get as well - quality content at a very fair price.

'The Little Red Book of Acoustics' is a must for anyone who wishes to be well-informed in his or her understanding of the industry.
