Product Description

To be a Goth is to be unique, creative and misunderstood. However, in order to be considered truly ‘gothic’, it is necessary to conform to certain rules. This little guide will tell you all you need to know about the dark and mysterious Goth world: popular myths and stereotypes; how to spot, become or insult a Goth; Goth philosophy; and the mating ritual. Be afraid.

Tongue-in-cheek 4 April 2007
By Kym
Format:Paperback
As a tongue-in-cheek attempt at a handbook to either spot a Goth or be a Goth, it does hit the mark fairly well. The guide is structured by six chapters-namely, "the Dark and Mysterious world of Goths,"a guide to goth-spotting","Goth philosophy", "How to become a Goth: Ten simple steps", "The Mating Ritual" and "How to insult a Goth".

If you put numerous mistakes aside it's an enjoybale enough read that has a lot of funny moments.

The book was a well received gift and a great pocket sized stocking filler. It is 'gothism' in a nutshell, albeit very much a tongue in cheek perspective. But all in all, a good little read.

A little Giggle 31 Aug 2009
Format:Paperback
I had actually bought this book as a joke, but it actually wasn't that bad. I couldn't help giggling in some parts 'I am not a goth!' - that is now my ongoing joke! Some bits are quite intresting, for example it lists the different words for goth in different languages. It's quite alright, given that its not to be taken too seriously, hence the silly jokes inside for example ' How to insult a goth'. To sum it up in one word: Silly
