This is a great little book which I can highly recommend. It is not your conventional diet book but a book with a difference the ideas in which will reach the parts of you that others have failed to reach.
The author, Kimberly Willis, is a therapist who specialises in weight loss both with individuals and groups. Her background is in science with a PhD in Chemistry but she now uses skills such as hypnotherapy, emotional freedom technique and neurolinguistic programming to help her clients.
The book is attractively set out and easy to read or just dip into. Each page covers a different topic and the use of colour, pictures and diagrams enhances the text and engages the reader.
We all know in theory how to lose weight, so how is it we find it so hard? What are the obstacles that get in our way?
The psychology and physiology of our eating habits are more important to understand than the number of calories we are consuming.
This is where this book is so helpful. Kimberley tackles subjects such as our attitudes to food; our emotional involvement with food; the importance of stabilising one's blood sugar and serotonin level.
Not only does she advise on the how to eat better and more wisely but even more importantly suggests tips and exercises to help with such things as cravings and temptations.
These techniques are derived from the most ancient of traditions including yoga, mindfulness and acupressure.
The use of these will help you regain control of your eating habits, your weight and ultimately your life.
The cost of the book is less than that of a few bars of chocolate and is worth its weight in gold.
