My son is now addicted to this book - it's a bedtime favourite! He's just over 3 and a half, so really enjoys joining in - he does most of the sounds; the dog's claws on the ground as he walks; the lady's highheels getting quicker to catch the bus; the jet zooming; the different lawn sprinklers, etc. It's a lovely, unusual book that focuses on the things in life we don't normally notice in this busy world. I particularly like the end where the author suggests the reader listens to what they can hear when they put the book down - perfect for winding down at bedtime. It's inspired us to go on our own 'Listening Walk' this summer. The only sightly annoying this is it's American, i.e. sidewalk, sneakers, etc, so these needed translating but that's the only thing!
