4.0 out of 5 stars Lovely stuff 16 Mar 2012
By Mat
Format:Paperback
From start to finish, The Life in the Angel Carving is an emotive read. It calls forth memories of movies such as Labyrinth and The Neverending Story, and reminded me of my days as a young'un and how easily I got lost in such adventures.

That's not to say this is a book purely for children or adolescents - Far from it. There's enough here to grab the imagination of anyone who enjoys fantasy or adventure, such is the charm of its characters and setting. The world therein is appealing to the reader, creating a sense of purity and magic that is enticing and perfect; whilst also sick and in despair - You can't help but to side with the angelic protagonist in her attempt to save us all (or to wonder why those boulders keep on doing what they're doing...)

I would happily recommend this book to anyone in need of a quick fantasy fix, or to those whom are looking for something for their kids outside of the usual Wizard/Vampire/Werewolf shenanigans.

As I said: Lovely stuff.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cracking 23 Oct 2011
Format:Paperback
A fantastical journey through an imaginary world with a description of how things could be and a warning about how things will end if we continue as we are. The author takes us on the journey introducing some bizarre and diverse characters. Thoughtful, enjoyable read

3.0 out of 5 stars A Quick Easy Fun Read 22 Aug 2011
By DvD
Format:Paperback
This is a fun journey through a fantasy land of imaginatively eccentric characters and wondrous adventure. A kind of crossover of Alice in Wonderland and Star Trek. This is a light read with an underlining link to humanities destructive power ever present through out the book but the reader should just enjoy the ride.
