The biggest book to cover the country (5 kilos!) and the first one to show that the place has recovered in the 20 years since the civil war, to be Switzerland of the Middle East again. New York Times destination of the year in 2009, and this book shows why. From the nightclubs and museums of Beirut to the Bedouin grape harvesters in the Bekaa - Milligan has done it again! (I know him, so am a bit biased).

A really lovely book, giving a feel of the country in my experience having spent two short holidays there. I have bought the book for my husband for his birthday, (yet to come) and I hope he will feel the same!, he having spent two prolonged periods working there in the late 1960's and again in tha mid 90's.

This book is not being released in the U.S until mid 2011.
