This is a must read book with fresh ideas on internal communications.
It had arrived in the post and was waiting for me when I got home. I couldn't put it down. Absolutely starving after work - I sat munching on dinner with a fork in one hand and the book in the other.
There isn't enough modern internal communications theory around but I'd say The Leader's Beacon goes a long way to filling an ever widening gap of knowledge. It is easy to read, easy to understand and makes sense. The best bit is that you don't need to wade through pages of heavy theory. The division into short chapters means it is easy to skip around and go back to sections when needed. I've been able to share it with clients during leadership coaching sessions without any concern about egos. Their response to it was also fantastic.
I say away with `followership' theory and loose the `two way communication' mantra. Geoff Barbaro's book brings together concepts that relate to today, giving a good groundwork for future internal communications theory.
Highly recommended and good value for money.
