Product Description

In The Last Of Us PS4 A pandemic has radically changed known civilisation. Twenty years later, infected humans run wild and survivors are killing each other for food, weapons, or whatever they can get their hands on. Joel, a ruthless survivor, is hired to smuggle a 14 year-old girl, Ellie, out of an oppressive military quarantine zone, but what starts as a simple job soon transforms into a profound journey across the U.S.

What does it take to survive in the brutal yet beautiful world that is The Last of Us? This is what you'lll be faced with at every turn as Ellie and Joel embark on an epic journey that will explore the depths of humanity and push them to the limits of human perseverance.

The population has been decimated. The United States government has collapsed long ago. Twenty years after the outbreak, abandoned cities are slowly reclaimed by nature. Roaming bands of survivors are killing each other for food, weapons, or whatever they can get their hands on.

Joel, a ruthless survivor with few moral lines left to cross, lives in one of the last remaining Quarantine Zones. These walled-off, oppressive cities are run by what’s left of the military. Despite the strict martial law, Joel operates in the black market of the city, smuggling contraband for the right price.

Joel is asked by a dying friend to look after Ellie, a fourteen-year-old girl with courage beyond her years. What starts out as a simple job to deliver Ellie to another Quarantine Zone, soon transforms into a profound journey that will forever change Joel and Ellie.

As they trek across a post-pandemic United States, Joel and Ellie will encounter different factions of survivors that have each found a unique way of dealing with the infected humans, the lack of supplies, and the threat of other survivors. As Joel and Ellie struggle to persevere, they must learn to trust each ot

5.0 out of 5 stars The Last of Us Remastered Review! 1 Aug 2014
By MrE TOP 100 REVIEWER
Platform for Display:PlayStation 4|Edition:Remastered
You will be in one of two camps, the first that simply never played the PS3 version of The Last of US and the Second that did and are wondering whether or not to upgrade to the PS4 version. For those in the first category, can I suggest you slap yourself around the face because you really did miss out! Joking aside lets talk about the game.

The Last of Us really was a triumph of what developers could create if they put their mind to it. Crucially the developers weren't pushed into rushing the game and as such when it did arrive on PS3 it was exactly as they intended. In my book the PS3 version even to this day remains one of the best games going and is certainly in my top 10 games ever.

So what is The Last of US? It's a Third person based, role playing adventure/horror game. You must survive in post apocalyptic America where a mutated fungus has taken hold and infected virtually everyone. It's edge of the seat stuff from beginning to end and really does showcase how good games can be!

Rather than waffling on and going into the ins and outs of everything in the game I simply want to say a few things about the differences between the PS3 and PS4 versions. While I wouldn't necessarily say it's worth upgrading to the next gen version if you still own a copy of the PS3 edition, as the PS3 edition was truly brilliant in itself. Be in no doubt that the graphics do look better with better textures and indeed the frame rate clearly running at a higher level (60 frames a second) and you can tell that simply by the fight scenes and shootouts as they run smoother on screen with no screen lag or graphical shudder (there wasn't exactly a lot of that in the PS3 edition but now it's completely gone).

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Length: 7:02 Mins
Whilst I strongly praise the game for its single player campaign experience from it's griping storyline, character interaction, graphics, music and gameplay, I do feel there is already more than enough reviews covering this section.

The online multiplayer in my opinion is very underrated, which is why I wanted to cover it.

I have uploaded a video review to cover the multiplayer aspect of this game which I hope will be useful and encourage people to give it a shot (after playing the main game and 'Left Behind' extra that is).

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Game on the PS4 20 Aug 2014
Platform for Display:PlayStation 4|Edition:Remastered
I never owned a PS3, so I am reviewing The Last of Us on how good the game is, not how good it is compared to its predecessor.

In my opinion, it is the best game I have ever played. Every aspect of it is as near perfect as any game has, or probably will ever get. From the amazing performance from Troy Baker (Joel) and Ashley Johnson (Ellie), the great soundtrack by Gustavo Santaolalla and the best story in any game courtesy of Neil Druckmann, to solid, heart racing gameplay, I can't shower this game with enough praise.

This is by far the best game you can get on the PS4 at the moment, and is 100% worth your money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Same game, new experience. 1 Sep 2014
Platform for Display:PlayStation 4|Edition:Remastered
This remastered edition breathes a new life in to the source material, there's no original content here but replaying Joel and Ellies tragic tale in full HD at 60 fps feels like a new and improved experience. In particular the higher framerate makes aiming and shooting that little bit easier. Without framerate drops, a higher draw distance and stunning lighting effects the immersion is turned up.

Do note however that while multiplayer and single player DLC is present with this package there is nothing new in terms of gameplay or story. That said anyone who enjoyed the original will be more than satisfied with this upgrade. The Last of Us pushed the PS3 to it's limits but I for one always felt that the presentation merely teased and the true potential of the game and the intricacies of it's aesthetic design suffered from the ageing hardware it ran on. Here then, is the Last of Us experience, finally reaching it's true potential.

5.0 out of 5 stars A new benchmark for games 18 Sep 2014
By Nick
Platform for Display:PlayStation 4| Edition:Remastered|Verified Purchase
There's so many things I could go on to say about this game, but all I need to really say is this game is genuinely something special. Its simply stunning. Without question the best game I've ever played (with Red Dead Redemption a close second).

There's so many great things about this game, the story, the acting, the gameplay, sound design, graphics and emotional depth it just goes on and on.

I mean you really, really care about Joel and Ellie and because of this you just become completely absorbed into the game and fight tooth and nail for their survival whether against the infected or other survivors of the apocalypse.

This game deserves all the critical acclaim its received and deserves to be played.

Oh yeah, and prepare to cry. A lot.

5.0 out of 5 stars Superlative game- but not 'next gen' 7 Sep 2014
Platform for Display:PlayStation 4|Edition:Remastered
Don't let the headline put you off, if you have never played LOU before, just buy it, it's phenomenal emotional story telling is better than any other game ever made. The sound and voice acting is superb. The graphics are good, but basically the same as they were on PS3 (which was the pinnacle of the PS3) with 1080p 60fps and an improved lighting engine. There's also some terrible pop in, particularly in the forest and Salt Lake City.
Anyway, I've loved playing it and just finished the main campaign. I simply cannot wait until Unchartered 4 where I am hoping Naughty Dog will produce something of the quality of this, but with true next glen graphics- perhaps looking like the cut scenes from this, but in game and in engine.
