"Likely to appeal to fans of conspiracy theories and readers of Dan Brown."
-"BOOKLIST"

Product Description

Vatican City, 29 September 1978: the world wakes to the shocking news that Pope John Paul I is dead, just a month after his accession.

Thirty years later, in London, young journalist Sarah Monteiro receives a mysterious package. Enclosed is a list of names and a coded message.

Moments later a masked assassin attempts to silence her for ever. It seems Sarah holds the key to unveiling a deadly secret a plot that implicates unscrupulous mercenaries and crooked politicians, and which goes to the very heart of the Vatican. Sarah has no choice but to run, forced into a ruthless game of cat-and-mouse. She can trust no one, especially when her fathers name appears on the incriminating list.

Sarah finds herself at the centre of a world-wide conspiracy its keepers will stop at nothing to protect.

Worst Book Ever? 24 Oct 2010
By H. meiehofer VINE™ VOICE
Format:Paperback
This is quite simply one of the worst books I have ever read. This is a great shame as on the face of it the book covers an interesting conspiracy theory surrounding the death of Pope John Paul the First.

Unfortunately the writing is simply appalling (this could be due to the translation, but I suspect not), the characters are unbelievable and the plot is risible. Why does everyone suddenly go off to New York for no apparent reason?

I did not dislike this book due to the unlikely nature of the story. I can accept bizarre plots and any variety of conspiracy however far fetched, but the story has to be well told, which this patently is not.

This book is even worse than the Da Vince Code!

Worth Reading 2 Dec 2009
Format:Paperback
It seems that this was more appealling than I had at first thought it was going to be. I bought this on trip to the US earlier in the year. It seems to have a degree of truth about it - or am I just one to enjoy conspiracy theories.

There seems to be comparison with the work of Dan Brown; I would say that this is better!

The Last Pope 23 Aug 2009
Format:Paperback
An absorbing read throughout; the way each chapter moves quickly from scene to scene enables the reader to be fully captivated right until the end. Can't wait to read 'The Holly Bullet'.
