I read the book to a reception/year 1/2 class, then we all watched the DVD to compare, the children absolutely loved it, and I must admit - I have watched it once or twice myself just for fun!
Would highly recommend this, and all Harry Horse books for children and adults alike!

This is a charming, gentle tale of a slightly zany grandfather's quest to the north pole to find the last polar bears, in the company of his irrepressible dog, Roo. Told in the form a letters to his grandson and beautifully narrated by Nigel Hawthorne, it takes you across the oceans (ably navigated by Roo) to the land of the penguins and the tap dancing wolves. Across the snowbound heights the quest for the bears continues to its enchanting conclusion. Highly recommended
