good band, a quite slow album but has a continuous flow with it. good sound, but not the most gripping album. very unique band. cant think of anyone close to them atm.

This album is fantastic. It rocks, but is wonderfully melodic. The singer has got a great voice and "A Stale Goodbye" will haunt your soul. The only negative thing is that it can get to sound a bit samey, but you will listen to it alot before that happens!

Beautiful album 14 May 2000
By Robert L. Thompson III - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
By A Thread is by far one of the better unheard of bands that I have discovered. "The Last of the Daydreams" is a very incredible album featuring soothing yet harder music that will enthrall the listener for years to come.
The music is definitely emo-core with more of a focus on melody and not your typical tempo-driven emo bands who focus on heaviness and hardcore screaming. Featuring a steady groove of solid drums and bass and accompanied by exquisite and soothing, melodic chords, the music will lead the listener into a feeling of bliss.
The vocalist has a soothing and beautiful voice who is a very good singer which really complements the already moving music. The lyrics are pretty much straight-forward with a bit of poetic flair. It seems that the only flaw is that the vocalist is holding back from his singing and few moments of screaming, rather than unleashing his entire emotional energy. This doesn't really deter from his talent though, just lessens it a bit.
From start to finish "Last of the Daydreams" is just an exquisite piece of artwork. All of the songs are mellow, yet has enough aggression and catchy melodic interludes to keep the listener enthralled. "Phaedra", "Crushed Beneath", and "Walkway" are my favorites and the most beautiful songs on the cd featuring incredibly soothing and catchy chords and riffs. "Surface", "Castle", "Fade", and "A Stale Goodbye" are also great songs, a bit more tempo-driven, just not as original or engaging. The only problem I have is that the songs are kind of short and could have been drawn out a bit more.
An incredible album by an incredible band. By A Thread has all of the talent, knowlegde, and determination to become something huge if just given a chance. Definitely check them, you won't be disappointed. Other emo acts: Glassjaw, Blind by Choice, Tenfold, Inkling, Simon Says, Cleanse, Leisure, Hangin' On A Thread, Helen 55, Codeseven, Shortie, Far.

Through a chance purchase I came along By a Thread's ablum "The Last Of The Day Dreams". That purchase took place two years ago, and this album still remains within the top five ablums that I own. By A Thread has created a smooth, flowing ablum from start to finish. Granted, this album is will not fall into the catagory of "Soft Rock", yet it is definitly easy to listen too. The pleasing progressions and little repitition contained in the albums gradual travels through a reality based emotional spectrum can only compliment the genious of the bands writers. This band falls in it's own sub-section, yet it is reminisant of Tool and Eiffel. Also, seeming to be the darker side of Gob! A great buy and well worth the money, a favourite for years to come.

I just saw this band in Vancouver, Canada and from the first time I heard them play, they sounded amazing. All the songs have so much emotion and the lyrics are incredible. When you listen to them, you just can feel what the writer felt when he wrote them. When I heard these guys live, they sounded amazing with songs that leave you speechless because they have such good vocals, lyrics, and the band can really play thier instruments. The CD is really great and can't be classfied into one category, but it is basically emo with a hardcore sound to it. Anyone who likes this kind of music won't be dissapointed.

This one has everything, emotion, power, inventive song structures, killer lyrics, and that ethereal "something" that gives you goose bumps every time you listen. Forceful, yet heartbreakingly beautiful at times. Hasn't left my pile of favorites for almost a year. Are you ready for music that's great for what it has to say instead of that crap you listen to because it's "popular"? When you're ready to graduate to the next level, By a Thread is required listening.

BY a THREAD to this day remains my most listened to album I own. I've never heard anything as catchy and emotional such as this, And they remain the best live show I have ever seen! If you like emo or borderline, or even noisecore, BYaTHREAD will have you unwillingly coming back for more. If you ever get a chance to go see BYaTHREAD, DO IT NO MATTER WHAT THE COST! which should only be around 5 to 10 dollars
