Ian Martin is a washed up Boston Police Detective who, after another booze-related botched arrest, is given one last chance by his Captain: a reassignment to the sleepy seaside town of Salem Harbor - Ian's hometown and life he left behind years ago. There he must rebuild his fractured relationship with his daughter Leanne. But when local girl Alison Stone goes missing with few in the town showing any concern, Ian must unravel the mystery which brings him closer to him than he would like. As the pressure mounts, Ian finds his old habits are hard to control, and he must decide how much he's willing to change to mend his seemingly lost relationship with his daughter.

Wade Williams does a fairly decent job as a booze addled detective whose latest gaff sees him transferred back to his home town of Salem Harbour where he searches for a missing woman. The trailer looked interesting but the movie itself doesn't live up to it. The screenplay is a little plodding at times and the characters (including the lead) aren't particularly engaging. There isn't much in the way of suspence or action and I've seen very similar tales handled better on Cabot Cove episodes of Murder She Wrote.

I am giving this wonderful film 5 stars. The acting, and directing are fantastic. But what really did it for me is the camera work and photography. Great stuff.

Not a huge amount to say about this one - discovered it on Amazon Prime, gave it a go and it proved to be watchable enough without rising above average fare.

In the lead, Wade Williams carries things well (think of lower rent James Gandolfini) as Ian Martin, a troubled, alcoholic cop who returns to his home town of Salem Harbour and stumbles straight into a murder mystery. This mystery is solid and engaging without ever showing any particularly brain taxing twists and turns. The alcoholic angle adds an interesting (if slightly cliched) element to proceedings as Martin tries to mend some fences with his exasperated daughter.

At 90(ish) minutes it doesn't hang around and certainly doesn't outstay it's welcome so overall is worth a watch.

A good small film, well acted and developed characters that seem real, like the small town by the sea or the drinking problems of the cop. the plot works well too. overall a decent movie.
