Product Description

War drama starring Billy Zane and Michael Madsen. In a daring attempt to end the war by Christmas, Winston Churchill (Anton Rodgers) and the British High Command hatch an extraordinary plan - Operation Market Garden. 35,000 British troops are dropped behind enemy lines in German occupied Holland. In the midst of the largest airborne invasion in history, one small unit of men, codename 'Matchbox' has it's own agenda. When Matchbox are shot down short of their landing zone, the odds of their success seem hopeless. Seven very different British soldiers find themselves separated from the Allied invasion, on a collision course with three renegade German soldiers who also want to lay claim to the horde.

1.0 out of 5 stars Utter tosh 26 Mar 2008
Hundreds of German soldiers get shot dead, and very few of the Allies get shot.... It's no surprise then that this daft movie went straight onto dvd. The director, Colin Teaugue, went from directing this nonsense movie to directing more worthy projects- Holby City (T.V).
All the actors are poor, and the script is laugh-out-loud bad. All the worst Hollywood actors are here - Billy Zane, Michael Madsen,..etc, and you even get a chance to see David Ginola (ex-footballer).Utter rubbish.

3.0 out of 5 stars A BRIDGE TO FAR - FETCHED 21 Dec 2006
This truely is a low budget war film. The computer generated aircraft were the strangest bunch of planes to fly in ww2.This is part A Bridge to Far and Kelly's Heroes, where this time it is the Germans trying to recapture stolen art and booty from other Germans.I have seen David Ginola in better acting roles in his player days at Spurs. The plot is lame and so are the acting performances. Not a patch on the two films already mentioned.

1.0 out of 5 stars Awful 2 Nov 2007
This has to be the worst film I have ever seen. Decent actors given apalling stereotypes to act out. Full of period errors (wrong weapons, vehicles, uniforms). Blazing ones are Nick Morans character stating he's served in the Paras since 1941 yet doesn't have a Denison smock or para lid just a straightforward infantry helmet. While a lot wouldn't notice such glaring errors it says to me that no effort was put into technical research. It looks like someone thought the plot up on Sunday afternoon and went to production on Monday morning. The battle scenes are uninspiring and the plot is weak. I have no idea why Michael Madsen was in it as his role was superfluous and overacted. The idea in essence is good but the film is apalling. It's effectively a very bad Commando book turned into a film. I won't be watching this one again!

1.0 out of 5 stars The Last Drop 2 Aug 2009
This is a very poor war film, and should come under the heading of low budget tripe with a laughable small scale plot.

1.0 out of 5 stars Bad, bad, bad... 21 July 2007
By David V
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
Possibly one of the worst films I have ever seen. Ever. Shame because the cast is good but what a waste of talent. Micheal Madsen must have needed the money bad. He was worse than awful. So over-acted by everyone and clichéd with these fake German accents. Worse than school boys imitating Nazis. I cringed watching the chase in the post-war Jeep with civilian tyres - thank God that got blown up. That stuck out a mile. And the ending - call that an ending.

2.0 out of 5 stars Low cost mix between a war and a gangsta movie 20 July 2009
By Empe
A good cast but underemployed. A weak story with low cost (and no realistic) battle scenes (some CG well done aircraft and some real BW battle scenes). A confused plot, in style with some old classic (with David Niven or Eastwood)mixing war and a robbery. A ridiculous ending. What else ?

1.0 out of 5 stars shockingly bad 15 Mar 2008
I have never writen a review before so this has got to be pretty bad.Probably one of the worst films I've ever seen a load of rubbish and very boring. Some of the worst acting ever seen and some of the worst chosen actors as well. it doesn't hold your attention at all.

1.0 out of 5 stars Probably the worst war film in history 11 Dec 2006
This film is SO awful I don't know where to begin - from the dodgy script to Michael Madsen hamming it up for all his worth to David Ginola not speaking as his Fresh accent would have given him away.

What a waste of Sean Pertwee's talents.

I've never laughed through a war film before!

I recommend this DVD to anyone who likes all action war films. true, the plot and scening seemed a bit disjointed but more than made up for by the brilliant special effects.
