Book Description

The second novel in the bestselling Inn at Boonsboro trilogy --This text refers to an alternate Paperback edition.

Product Description

A shared past, a fresh start, and a lifetime of love . . .

Owen Montgomery is a busy man. He and his brothers, Beckett and Ryder, are working day and night to build an intimate Bed and Breakfast in his hometown. Owen is the organiser of the Montgomery clan, and while his brothers tease him for his compulsive list making, they have to admit that Owen has ensured the Inn BoonsBoro is about to open right on schedule. The only thing Owen didn't plan for was Avery McTavish . . .

Avery's popular pizza place is right across the street from the inn, giving her a first-hand look at its amazing renovation - and a newfound appreciation for Owen Montgomery. Owen was her first boyfriend, when they were kids, and he's never been far from Avery's thoughts. But the attraction she's feeling for him now is far from innocent.

As Avery and Owen cautiously take their relationship to another level, the opening of the inn gives the whole town of Boonsboro a reason to celebrate. But Owen's hard work has only just begun. Getting Avery to let down her guard is going to take longer than he expected - and so will getting her to realise that her first boyfriend is going to be her last . . .

Not my Favourite 7 May 2012
Format:Paperback
This book is the second of a triology of Nora Roberts books set in a small town where a trio of brothers who run a contracting business redevelop a guesthouse with a resident ghost. In the first book Beckett and Claire find love, in this book Owen the youngest brother is the hero with Avery the heroine. In this novel we get to know all of the characters a litte better including the ghost Lizzy while watching a wonderful love story unfold. While I loved the characters and enjoyed the development of both Owen and Avery as well as the rest of the crew, this book did not grip me like most of Ms Roberts novels. It was a very pleasant read and I enjoyed it.

I like it 2 May 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I have a hard time putting aside stories that are well-written. The Last Boyfriend continued to prove that I am being lucky with good stories this spring. This emotive, moving and engaging story that flows is told with details that are plentiful.Nora Roberts is plain brilliant with characterization, weaving the characters of the three brothers in ways that are so true to life. The book adds more color to the trilogy in a package that comes with a great plot and masterful story telling. Nora Robert's The last Boyfriend and Janvier Chando's The Sweetest made my weekend an enjoyable one.I definitely will read the complete trilogy. In fact, I am really getting into ghost stories.

I've now read books 1 and 2 of the Boonsboro Trilogy. There really isn't anything new in Roberts' plots: girl and boy meet, have great sex but then find conflicts and/or danger. However this is Nora Roberts and she is skilful at what she does. The characters are well rounded even if all the women are highly successful (almost all of Roberts' female protagonists are clever and successful women) but that's the US I suppose. In this trilogy we find three brothers each falling for one of three friends and the books deal with one romance at a time. It's interesting reading how the refurbishment of the old inn develops but I thought there was a little TOO much attention to detail in the descriptions of the decor and furniture. There's only so much we can visualize as readers.
Still, as I said, this IS Nora Roberts so each book is a good read and I shall definitely download Book 3 when it becomes available. Who can resist such a writer?
