Review

"Vivid!" --"Publishers Weekly"

"Vampires like you've never seen before!" --"Science Fiction Chronicle"

"I'm impressed with Lumley's talent. He's obviously one of the best writers in the field. ["Blood Brothers" and "The Last Aerie "are] comparable to the Anne Rice 'Vampire' books. Lumley is that good." --John Farris, author of "Sacrifice"

"Brian Lumley offers wide-angle horror of a scope too rarely seen in modern fiction. His Wamphyri are vicious, savage, ruthless, and unrepentantly evil--a feast for the horror fan." --F. Paul Wilson, author of "The Select"

Product Description

Nestor and Nathan Kiklu are the twin sons of Harry Keogh, the Necroscope, the man who talked to the dead, rallying them to mankind's side for great battles against the vampires. The twins, linked by blood and the unique mental powers they inherited from their father, are driven apart by their love for the same woman...and by their very different attitudes toward the vampires who prey upon their people. Nathan takes up the struggle against the vampires, defending home and family, while Nestor, fascinated by the vampires' unearthly powers and eerie evil, has become his twin's worst nightmare: a vampire Lord! Nathan is imprisoned by a megalomaniac ESPer who plans to invade the vampire world. Rescued by the members of E-Branch, the British psychic-powered spy organization once led by Harry Keogh, Nathan finds himself fighting side by side with his father's oldest friends. Nathan Kiklu, like Harry Keogh, is a necroscope. He must win the friendship of the dead before he can return to his own world. Nestor, growing ever more powerful among the vampire hierarchy, plots the ruination of all his enemies and the complete domination of the human race. Harry Keogh's sons have become the bitterest of enemies, each determined to destroy the other. When next they meet, one will surely die! --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Harry may be dead but the Necroscope lives on. His son Nathan has come through the Hell-lands Gate and is now in the hands of Turkur Tzonov, the evil head of Russia's E-Branch. It's up to Ben Trask and co to rescue the heir to Harry's enormous powers - for the sake and safety of two worlds. Meanwhile, back on Sunside/Starside Harry's other son is making himself at home in the last aerie of the Wamphyri, a place where power, politics and blood rule. But Nestor has a dark secret he must hide from the other occupants of this "house of horrors", for even vampires have their fears and Nestor posesses the one thing that can strike terror into the heart of a Lord of the Wamphyri. Brian Lumley's second volume in the "Blood Brothers" trilogy is absolutely awesome - probably one of the best in the entire Necroscope series. The characters introduced in the first book are "fleshed out" and are allowed to grow in our affections - even the vampires (or perhaps especially the vampires!)We also see the return of our old favourites at E-Branch whilst the introduction of Tzonov as the head of the Russian espers provides Ben Trask with a truly worthy opponent. Once you start reading you won't be able to put this book down until you have finished it AND bought the next one.

I'm speechless.. BL writes wonderful books., I just got to the 7th book in the series and am an avid Lumlian.!! I love how he takes the normal lore with Vampires and throws it out the window and makes it all fresh., and not just vampires., who are mere thralls to the might Wamphyri.!! Be afraid., be very afraid., as you never know what lurks in the trogs haven or in the upper most Aerie., espeically since it's now Wrathastack.!! Makes you wish Karenstack was never left standing on the fateful/glorious victory that day in the garden by 'The Dweller' and his 'Hell-Lander' father Keogh.!! Grips you from the beginning of the series till the end and I'm still going.!! Great job Brian.!! Silky., your the best.!! :)
