Product Description

Review

Within it is nostalgia for the English countryside and for the fast disappearing habitat of this symbolic summer bird. OUP's spacious printing evokes its soaring flight. The beautiful cover features Samuel Palmer's painting, The Prospect which is in the Ashmolean Museum round the corner from OUP. Keep this inspirational cover on your music stand! (Mary Nemet, Stringendo, April 2010)

About the Author

He has a particularly wide-ranging catalogue of works, including choral works, symphonies, concerti, and opera. His searching and visionary imagination, combined with a flexibility in writing for all levels of music-making, has meant that his music is as popular today as it ever has been.

Bought this as it is transcribed for violin and piano. The print is clear and easy to read with no awkward page turns (at least not for the violin). Also has the violin part separate. Not to difficult to learn the basics of but has a lot of depth that will take time to master.

Nicely presented book with part for solo violin and included removable paper booklet with piano accompanists part.
At the moment I'm not good enough to play it properly, but I'm happy to have a go and get little snatches that sounds like the piece of music I love.
This product is perfect for performers and anyone who just wants to play the music. Attractive enough it would even make a nice gift to an aspiring violinist.

The music is lovely and the score is easy to read. However, the description is NOT correct. It is not for Solo Violin and Orchestra or Piano but is the reduction for violin and piano.

Wonderful violin solo. 11 Sept. 2013

This is a beautiful piece to enjoy listening to, but even a thrill to play. Great Exercise. I have only played it in an orchestra and always wanted to play the solo, so that's why I bought it. Well worth the price and I will be performing it. Very soft romance. Also, a challenge with all the trills, the Lark. Buy it and enjoy.
