5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best British jazz albums ever 12 July 2001
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
The Language of Truth is Julian Joseph at his very best. The album is littered with great riffs and solos - his cover version of Curtis Mayfield's "Other Side of Town" is superb and worth the price of the albulm alone. But there is far more to this than that one track. Julian Joseph is still writing and re-inventing jazz. This albulm is a brilliant example of the strength, vitality and future-thinking of the British jazz scene. Great bass-lines to boot.

5.0 out of 5 stars Young talent 12 July 2009
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
I love this album, and for a first album, it's clear he was going to be big. 'The magical one' is probably my favorite track; it's a great album from a great talent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb 16 Nov 2000

Format:Audio CD
The passion and feeling portrayed on this recording could make anyone a jazz fan. Sitting on the periphery of jazz fandom myself, when played this CD by a friend I bought it and went to one of his concerts. A must have.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Jazz, Great Jazz 12 Jun 2003
By David - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
As I said before great jazz. Julian Joseph was an artist Id heard about a while back but did not get a chance to hear. The music on this album is top notch in my opinion. If your a straight-ahead jazz fan definitely pick this up. Julian's piano work is pleasant and everything a jazz pianist is about. The sax player is also very talented commenting the piano. The thing that I love most about the album is that some tracks have this beautiful sparceness to them also of course their are tracks with a faster pace.
The album also has a the talented singer Sharon Musgrave, who I knew of from her album "Selah". Anyway Ill stop talking and let you see for your self.
