A lovely little story 22 May 2011
By Tim C
Format:Paperback
This is a really lovely story that introduces the concept of adoption to younger children in a really nice easy going way. The story would be particularly good for matches where there are physical differences between parents and child, but it's a good primer for any adopted children (and even for non-adopted children, it's still a nice little story!)

Great book for younger kids and has a message too. 11 July 2007
By Anne-Marie Gilliland - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
What a great book!

I had to read this book out loud to a small gathering of 3 and under kids--it was one of the only books I read that seemed to hold their attention. The illustrations are vibrant and bold without being overwhelming, the characters emotions are conveyed really well on the page. The story itself has a wonderful blend of silliness and heart. Ultimately its a story about adoption and how differences can be a good thing, its also about family and love. But it has great moments where you get to read words like "Boing!" and "maa-aa-aa" out loud, which any little kid can get into.

Very good book.

Great book for transracial adoptive families 7 Jan 2009
By C. Goodrich - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
We bought this book for our 18 m.o. daughter whom we adopted transracially, and we think it is a very sweet book for her. She loves it, but so does her brother (4.5 y.o.) who is not adopted.

Charming 31 Oct 2008
By J's mom - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
This book is one of the most charming stories I have ever read to my 2 year old. It is a story about a lonely mother kangaroo without a baby and a lonely lamb without a mother who find each other and learn that their differences don't stop them from being family. The illustrations are sweet and funny and the text is perfect for a read-aloud bed time story. This is a must for any family, adoptive or not.
