A good sample which left me wanting more. the mysterious Sonja, who has been attacked and left with the mark of the wolf, whose husband died years ago leaving her a young widow now harbours a fugitive in the eyes of the confederate army. Ty is brought to Sonja's home to recuperate and is developing feelings for her. Loved it!

1.0 out of 5 stars A work in progress 26 Dec 2013

This rating reflects a lack in the author's ability to capture the readers interest in the sample read. I
would recommend it to someone who shares a passion for history as well as romantic paranormal literature.

3.0 out of 5 stars Hmm...... 17 July 2013

Not the best book I have read this year, but it did keep me entertained between my usual authors books.
I found it a bit hard to get into with the language, but once I did it was an okay read.

2.0 out of 5 stars Very well written 26 Aug 2014

I really enjoyed this story but it is way too short and really leaves you hanging at the end. Not sure if I'll read the rest depends on the price and number of stories involved.

5.0 out of 5 stars , Entertaining, good read, recommended! 6 Jan 2013

Sonja Brooks is a young widow who lost her husband in the civil war. She goes through a life changing event when she is attacked by a pack of wolfs. Then, she finds a dying rebel, Ty Loflin, mends his wounds, and brings him back to life.
I must say that I was hooked to the book from the first page. Award winning author Catherine Wolffe is a wordsmith. Her pace is consistent, her characters are well developed, and although I was not familiar with the genre-- well, the truth is that the author experiments with a mix of genres such as vampires, werewolves at a different era, etc-- I plan to read Catherine Wolffe's other books.

I thought it was interesting but not as clear as I wanted some of the scenes to be. I felt that it was lacking in depth.
