5.0 out of 5 stars Very useful for an advanced learner 14 April 2000
By A Customer
As a teacher of adult upper-intermediate to advanced learners of English, I must say that the best recommendation for this book comes from the many satisfied users I've seen who rely on it daily to help them with their writing. It is a unique dictionary, unlike any other they have ever used, because it shows which words "belong together." It focuses on how to use combinations of words correctly, and as such, helps students develop their vocabulary knowledge into useful, natural English. It is currently a big hit with our adult advanced learners in Korea.

4.0 out of 5 stars very easy to use 14 April 2013
Very easy to use since it has got two main sections,a noun section (longer) and an adverb section.
In the first, it lists words alphabetically and underneath each one it lists the verbs/adjectives/phrases that can collocate with the noun.
In the adverb section it lists verbs and underneath the adverbs that can go with each verb.

However, having been a non-native teacher of English for 15 years now, I find it a little limited. More collocations and available options could have been incorporated in the book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Super buy 24 Sep 2012
It's a brilliant handy book for everyone at any level. Extremely easy to use as it's to the point without being fussy. I'm a translator and found it very helpful indeed, so did my writer friends.
