Not your standard footy trivia book. The Knowledge is a compilation of questions posed by Guardian readers and answered by the Guardian's online football-writing team.
The questions are interesting. Which footballers don't like football? Did Les Ferdinand MBE trash the Blue Peter garden? And which club used a flamethrower to thaw out a frozen pitch? What is the most postponed game ever? Which managers have been sacked at half-time? And, did a referee really shoot a player dead?
The answers on the whole are interestting too, but also entertaining and amusing in places. This is the sort of book most blokes would welcome as an addition to a toilet reading cabinet.
