Product Description

Addressing the sometimes complex issues relating to knee problems and rehabilitation, this book describes the more familiar injuries, such as cartilage and ligament tears, less usual problems such as reflex sympathetic dystrophy, and background factors such as stress and food intolerance.;The author explains how the knee works, what can go wrong with it, what should be done, who should be consulted, and how knees should be protected against avoidable harm. She also sets out some of her own treatment strategies for dealing with the most common knee problems.;The book should be of interest to those who have suffered any kind of knee problem, and to sports coaches, trainers and managers. If you have any kind of knee problem that you have not been able to resolve through your doctor, osteopath etc, then do yourself a big favour and run, hop, limp or crawl to buy this book. Grisogono really knows her stuff, & knows how to get it across to the layperson. The book discusses many different knee conditions, and gives detailed self help exercises together with careful instructions of what exercises can address what conditions. This book may not be able to fix your knee permanently , but it may just show you how to build up a suite of remedial exercises that can allow you to work around your injury. Very useful discussions about what aspects of what sports may help or hinder particular conditions. For many people, a potentially life-altering book.

Factual but boring 31 Dec 2004
Format:Paperback
Whilst the information in this book is factually useful, it's incredibly boring to read. Whilst I'm sure that the author is a very good physiotherapist, they aren't so good at putting their passion for their speciality into words. I found myself almost falling asleep towards the end of this book, and it's not organised in a way that will help the reader identify with a knee problem that they may have themselves.
