4.0 out of 5 stars my review -Lynn Clark 27 Jan 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Enjoyed the tale, particularly the parts highlighting the roles of the archers in the various battles. The descriptions of everyday life were also very interesting and evocative. Thought the proof reading of the text was poor and could be improved but this didn't take anything away from the story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Charming ! 16 Dec 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
A charming book from the heart. An archer from a village near Mortimer's Cross sets out on an adventure that finds him leading a band of friends into battle at Mortimer's Cross and onwards to Towton;a fierce battle ground indeed.
A raw account but with a delightful romantic thread running through the book. Loved it.

2.0 out of 5 stars The King's Archer 8 Jan 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The text is littered with grammatical mistakes which becomes increasingly irritating. There is an attempt to give a sense of time and place but the story is like something out of Boy's Own and there is little attempt at characterisation. The book is diisappointing and is not in the same class as novels by Elizabeth Chadwick or Phillippa Gregory.

4.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't quite hit the bulls-eye 12 Nov 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I'm interested in the Medieval period, and the wealth of accurate period detail is very impressive. What is less impressive was the number of typos and grammatical errors, but perhaps that's being a bit pedantic compared to the way the story-line romps along. Those who have enjoyed Cornwell's books (whether the Sharpe or Hook series) will find parallels, both in terms of characterisation and action. That's not a negative criticism - it all adds to the enjoyment. So why didn't I give it a top rating? Well, simply because of the annoyance of the spelling aberrations....

Disjointed, characters come and go without much if any depth to them. Felt like the book was written in a rush.

3.0 out of 5 stars good story shame about the spelling! 12 April 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Good read and the characters were believable but the appalling spelling and punctuation is unforgivable and surprising for a UK published book.

I couldn't get past the grammatical and punctuation errors. I wonder if the author knows someone who can assist him?
