Product Description

Thriller starring Jamie Foxx and Chris Cooper. When a terrorist bomb detonates inside a Western housing compound in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, an international incident is ignited. While diplomats slowly debate equations of territorialism, FBI Special Agent Ronald Fleury (Foxx) quickly assembles an elite team and negotiates a secret five-day trip into Saudi Arabia to locate the madman behind the bombing. Upon landing in the desert kingdom, however, Fleury and his team discover Saudi authorities suspicious and unwelcoming of American interlopers into what they consider a local matter. Hamstrung by protocol, and with the clock ticking on their five days, the FBI agents find their expertise worthless without the trust of their Saudi counterparts who want to locate the terrorist in their homeland on their own terms. Fleury's crew finds a like-minded partner in Saudi Police Captain Al-Ghazi (Ashraf Barhom), who helps them navigate royal politics and unlock the secrets of the crime scene and the workings of an extremist hell bent on further destruction.

5.0 out of 5 stars Its a film, not a political broadcast! 5 Jan 2009
This a quality film, despite what the other 2 bored left wing radicalists say... (please get over yourselves. You clearly have issues with american foreign policy and are no doubt smart enough to know what Hollywood is like, so why watch it, and wind yourselves up??)
It is edge of the seat stuff, with REALLY well recreated action scenes. If you've got a hangover and are not feeling too clever this is definitely the film for you! Jamie Foxx is cool as ever. See it!

4.0 out of 5 stars it has its flaws but... 11 May 2009
that Brendan fella on this board or is it George Galloway in disguise ???was watching a completly different film to me im sure. The point of the film was to basically say we are all as bad as one another - not that the Americans are superior. You need to sit down and watch it again.
It took me a while to get around to watching this movie as i had a whole bunch of other movies to get through. I must admit that i was sceptical about this release due to a few bad reviews.
I'll tell you now that i am not one for shoot em up action films but i can say this was a far sight better than the recently released "Body of Lies". The film is a bit slow to start with but does eventually take off. I disagree with another reviewer on this board who states that you just dont care for the characters... i did especially the Saudi copper.
The ending shoot out is a bit far fetched but a very good action sequence, the problem is i just don't believe FBI agents are that would have been more believable if it was the marines. Anyway this subject and the foreign policy and religious violence will never stop.. its been going on since the crusaders. The film has its flaws but is not biased in anyway.
The soundtrack by Danny Elfman is fantastic i initially thought is was by Texan band "Explosions in the Sky" which i suppose would have been more appropriate due to the films underlying message about the dreaded black stuff "Oil"
The bluray PQ is top quality as is the HD master audio.

5.0 out of 5 stars One to see again and again! 30 Mar 2013
By Mrs. L. Evans VINE VOICE
Format:Blu-ray|Verified Purchase
This is a really good film, my husband and I have watched it many times.

The script, acting and in particular the directing (from the brilliant Peter Berg who has a cameo at the beginning) all make this a great viewing experience.

A good performance from Jamie Foxx but the star-turn for me was Chris Cooper.

I'm not one for watching extras, but it's worth watching the making of the film especially when an FBI agent is snatched which is preceded by multiple car crashes and explosions. It serves to show just how much work and talent go into the making
of a film of this calibre.

I love this film. Okay it may be a little bit of a rah rah USA saves the world but for a bit of edge of your seat action its a great piece of cinema. Fox is excellent in the lead role.

5.0 out of 5 stars seriously underrated movie 12 Oct 2009
As a European I am not surprised that both sides of the American spectrum object to this movie. I liked it very much and I loved the ending!
