why i bought this film:
i really liked the live action film of tekken, so when i saw this, i thought ok, so i looked up reviews for it and the critics were quite harsh, but that didnt put me off buying it, because as a consumer, i like to go on my own initiative, but of course, i kept my expectations low due to these critics reviews.
my views after watching the film:
i really enjoyed it, the overall tone was quite serious and fast paced, but there was times where there was not fighting going on to explain the backgrounds of the story. but i personally felt that was useful, as i normally find myself saying 'where was the story', 'just action after action', but not here, there was also some humorous lines in there too which made me laugh,
why i gave a 5 star rating:
i gave it 5 stars because from my perspective, it ticked all the right boxes from what i like in a film, a good, strong story,which is well explained, and it wasn't just another film dished out with action and special effects all the way through (personal preferences), and i also felt that all the cast, who arent the most well known gave strong performances, Ray Park and Maggie Q were the most notable and memorable strong performances from where i was watching. also, the fight scenes were excellent, ALL of the fight scenes were truly flawless for me.
what is bad: sometimes the audio can be abit quiet with the background sounds, but that is forgiveable as it doesnt bother me a lot
additional notes:
this film is only loosely tied to the king of fighters game series by snk, so if you were looking to buy this film from being a game fan, you shouldn't go in expecting to see everything you witnessed in the games, the notable characters featured from the games are, mai shiranui, kyo kusunagi, iori yogami, rugal bernstein,terry bogard, shizuru, vice and mature, saisun kusunagi. and just to note, they dont look like the characters you see in the games either.
why buy this film?:
if your looking for a film, with a strong story, with nicely played out characters, with enough action and explanations or just generally enjoy some good fight scenes, then i recommend this film to you,

well, that is my first item review, i hope its been useful to some of you, =) and if you choose to buy, i hope you enjoy the film as much as i did.
You certainly dont need to be a fan of the games to enjoy this movie, most people dont even know the games much these days anyway as they are much more popular in Japan, this movie is just based on several characters from the game a few people will recognise them if youre a fan, dont expect costumes from the game though, there are a few nods to Fatal fury like Terry Bogards baseball cap, the acting is pretty average, Ray park was actually a pretty decent villain and Maggie Q is great as Mai Shiranui even though she is nothing like the character in the game either, all in all its a fun popcorn fight flick thats a bit predictable but everyone knows the good guys always win, it will entertain better than the last Streetfighter movie but the Tekken movie is much better. There is no extras on disc either.
