From the real king of Rock n Roll, and these cd's are what it was all about. OK,they may not have been recorded at The Killers late 50's prime, but the sheer excitement of a JLL live show still comes through. Highly recommended

I can't believe I've been alive 29 years and haven't heard Jerry Lee live at the Star Club. It's unbelievable. Forget Elvis, forget The Beatles, forget The Rolling Stones, if your into Rock n Roll, this is all you need.

A one stop shop for prime time Jerry Lee live recordings.
Collectors ''lookie here lookie here'' you can get the more direct mono mix of the 'Panther Hall' Show previously only on Vinyl plus the outtakes from the those shows noteably 'Lovin' Up A Storm'.It would have been good to have blended in the bonus cuts from Panther Hall to create the impression of a longer show!
Of course Bear Family issued the stereo version on the 'The Greatest Live Shows' cd a few years back.
The Star Club outtake of 'Down The Line' is present and correct.
No extras from the Birmingham Alabama gig have surfaced yet.Shelby Singleton claims to have test recorded JLL in Montgomery Alabama prior to this show.I still wish the organ could be mixed down on the 'greatests' sets but JLL is on top form and your ears are suitably diverted!
.The 1970 International Hotel show is here with it's canned applause sprinkled about.
Great to have it on cd at long last particularly 'Drinking Champagne' & 'She Still Comes Around'. With some extras too though sadly not the likes of 'What D' I Say' or 'Mexicali Rose' which came out on Vinyl in the 80's.We will have to wait for a proper trawl through JLL's International Hotel tapes to close the circle properly.

Simon F. Glastonbury.
